Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. One thing that I did notice that I didn’t see previously was the below if you look at the very bottom of the room service drinks menu it clearly states FOR ONBOARD CONSUMPTION ONLY so if you do get a bottle from room service you can drink anywhere onboard in theory they can’t even get that right😂
  2. it wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me in relation to the spirits being stopped from taking on at Embarkation but do get why it has caused so much attention across the platforms Personally the way things are going it is getting nearer to the point that the as previous people have said all the changes added together makes the product less value personally to me. the other thing that might be happening here is that the information has deliberately been leaked to See how it lands to the public Which at present is not very well Was just thinking a way around the spirits situation could be increase options of spirits to prebook before cruise for cabin consumption at slightly reduced cost to nearer Supermarket price prebook before the cruise on the my p@O and left in stateroom on arrival or delivered by cabin steward if theft is a potential issue spirits are then sold by P@O who would then make money from spirits sold instead of the supermarket p&O would also have a even greater buying power with increased volumes ordered P@O wins with extra revenue customer doesn’t have to buy and bring with them and is pretty much same price of a supermarket the only loser is the supermarket not getting the sale Hopefully with a wider selection 95% of people will find a product they would like Just a idea but would never happen
  3. We have also stayed in a partial accessible cabin last year plenty of room to be honest this was ARVIA 15326 have a great cruise your mum will be fine
  4. Just got off Ariva great cabins on deck 4 for getting off at ports etc There Was signs on the treadmills and tape to stop people using treadmill between certain times I presume for this very problem
  5. Been to various warners over the years some very good and some not that great. we have also been to potters three times, two at Hopton on sea and last month a three night break at Five lakes. food is a good quality and Certainly on a par with anything you would get from the MDR they have loads of activities going on all day that are included in the price from craft to clay pigeon shooting the last two years both resorts have now gone all inclusive you get breakfast, lunch and a evening meal. You also get the option of a midnight snack like pizza, curry and sausage rolls(never had one mind you) all standard drinks are available from 3pm of first day to 11am of departure and are included in the price you go to a drink station place your order and servers bring to your table, very easy and very efficient. the nightly entertainment normally has bingo followed by some sort of audience involvement show you then have a show put on by the theatre group that is in house now potters have invested lots in the theatre and the team and the shows knock spots off anything I have seen on a P&O cruise ship. see photo of the activities over the weekend we went the nightly entrainment would then finish in either Garden bar with various shows to the early hours without a doubt the nearest land experience to a cruise loads to do loads to eat and the shows are of a extremely high standard the reviews on trip advisor don’t lie Certainly worth a look
  6. Well out of the first 4 Iona cruises in 2024 3 are now going to the canaries after the itinerary changes so would be amazed if there isn’t lots of scope 🤞it all works out
  7. You can also check here https://upg.plusgrade.com/marketing/partner/jSVKVd6GPUK
  8. someone has just put this on Facebook so it looks to be coming But it’s is down to luck where you are put but it’s the same on Saver and early saver personally as I doubt Iona would be full in jan if the cabin was that bad they would have scope to move you. I see loads of people moving cabins for various reasons even when ship is claiming to be full GOOD NEWS Later this month P&O will be launching the next phase of their Upgrade program to include bookings made through travel agents. If you are happy with the cabin you have booked then that's great, stick with it, but this is great news for those who have booked with a travel agent and want to bid for an upgrade. More details to follow
  9. Well Iona is a big ship to fill off season so you never know what might happen I think the upgrade system will go to all as they will be mad not to open up to more bids for unsold cabins all the best and hopefully you get it sorted
  10. You will have to go through your travel Agent the bid for upgrade scheme will pretty much put a end to people getting moved from say inside to balcony for free.(never happened to me mind you) I think it will also open up to everyone(direct with P&O at present only) soon as it’s a win win for the cruise line the below is a idea what they wanted for upgrade for a inside on ARVIA for october The price is per person so in theory x2 the top price is a deluxe balcony you will could in theory be put anywhere, but ocean view are only on the 2 decks( 4 and 5)
  11. Facebook is full on the forums of people getting the emails it certainly looks like good intent on behalf of P@O about if people need assistance on the booking and confirming internary etc unfortunately the way it been delivered alot will no doubt be on the phone this morning blocking up the already busy call centre with questions now as it’s not overly clear obviously to some by the comments
  12. Well as I said before I couldn’t fault them in all my dealings with them. with a further two booked they are also the only ones I have found to offer a EV charge I can see at Southampton at present yes by what has been put clearly the individual should have dealt with the situation a lot better and hopefully they will learn from it but after reading all the differing comments I had to smile if honest All on this group love P@O and the product they DID offer or still DO offer I worked in a customer delivery and customer relations field for a Massive uk company so know the frustrations from both sides at times well personally the consistently worst Customer service(shoreside I will add as can’t fault them on the ship)I have got over the years is P&O ironic really but still have two up coming cruises with them as it ticks boxes for other bits just know what customer service and IT experience I will get happy sailings everyone
  13. We have a full ev car we used the below port side meet and greet and car was returned fully charged as we booked the EV option through Holiday extras excellent service and great price have booked direct for October and if you sign up to emails you get a 10% off first order https://portsidemeetandgreet.co.uk
  14. Used them in June through Holiday extras as wanted option to charge our EV car. they was excellent and couldn’t fault them at all. very polite and efficient have since booked again direct this time for October cruise
  15. Don’t tend to post on here but always look at various threads we stopped cruising 5years ago as got so fed up with people constantly moaning and complaining and talking to staff like ***** we took the plunge and booked for Britannia last month and to be honest had low expectations from what people say on the forums yes the cut backs are evident but we had a great cruise.Staff was fantastic and the food on the whole was better than we was expecting our experience was pretty much parallel with Selbourne updates i really don’t get how people want cruising how it used to be but pay only a fraction of the cost I would say P@O is a great value product if your expectations are set right if you are moaning constantly it is obviously not the product now for you life is to short
