Ft Lauderdale - Hilton Marina or W? Help me decide

Hilton Marina or W Ft Lauderdale ?

 

Can someone who is familiar with these hotels help me decide? I'm looking for a nice, somewhat upscale hotel with views of the water. I think that both of these are close to the cruise port which is another criteria.

Hilton Marina is on the intercoastal, you'll see water but it won't be unobstructed Ocean Views like you'd get at the W. I'd also recommend the Westin Ft Lauderdale Beach.

I stayed at the W in Fort Lauderdale last year and really disliked it. The room was one of the smallest I ever stayed in. It had an open concept bathroom that we did not like and t he balcony was

also very small. I choose it over the Hilton but I don't think I made the correct choice.
