cruiserchris613 Posted June 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2018 What are the differences between the Norwegian Escape Vs Breakaway? How is the smoke on the Escape? Thanks for the help! A few things off the top of my head: ESCAPE only: District Brewhouse Food Republic Bayamo by Jose Garces Pincho Tapas Bar Sugarcane Mojito Bar Mondavi Family Wine Cellars Five O'Clock Somewhere Bar BREAKAWAY only: Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian Sushi Bar Svedka Ice Bar Shanghai Noodle Bar Subtle differences on Escape: Additional deck of balconies (Deck 15) on Escape More Haven Suites on Escape Splash Academy on Deck 5 (Splash Academy on BA is on Deck 12) Different Ropes Course design Different water slides Better pool layout on Escape Bocce court on Escape Better fitness center setup on Escape IMO, the Escape is much better than the Breakaway. Slightly better layout, the crew seems happier. The smoke situation seems better controlled on the Escape. Not as noticable as on the Breakaway. LrgPizza Posted June 5, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2018 Standard balconies on Escape are larger. (Not the cabin, but the actual balcony). Escape has way fewer smoking areas than Breakaway, so much less places where smoke is an issue. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare BirdTravels Posted June 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2018 Bayamo by Jose Garces Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian NCL ended their relationship with the iron chefs. Graces in April. Zakarian couple of years ago. When the relationships ended, the menus were gutted. Bayamo looks close to Ocean Blue now. The Ocean Blue menu on the Bliss is dramatically different. deliver42 Posted June 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2018 I haven't been on the Breakaway or Getaway, but we had a fantastic cruise on the Escape, and are now booked on the Encore.
WAHMto5 Posted June 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2018 We haven't been on the Breakaway (yet), but we did go on the Escape 3 times and LOVED it each time!
my3sonsnj Posted June 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2018 I've been on the Breakaway 4 times and the Escape once. The crew are top notch and friendly on both ships, in my opinion. I don't understand others comments regarding crew. That being said, I love the Breakaway because it accommodates my cruising style and personal preferences better than the Escape. I won't be on the Escape again even though it is sailing out of NYC which is the port that I use. Hoping the Escape goes back to Miami soon and the Breakaway returns to NYC! my3sonsnj Posted June 15, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Jeanette....Your assessment is absolutely correct....very good point. If not provided with good options, they unfortunately make their own options. For non-smokers, it would be much better to provide smokers with more options so they don't infringe on any areas that are for "NO Smoking." Then everyone is happy. Don:cool: Thanks Don, glad that you understood the intent of my post :)
