Indy aft suites - soot or engine noise/vibrations?

Hi all! First time looking at an aft cabin! Can anyone tell me if Indy has a problem with soot on aft cabins or engine noises or weird vibrations?

I don't know if the vibrations were "weird", but we certainly felt vibrations on an aft deck 10 stateroom on Indy when manuvering near the port.

The vibration is caused by what is called cavitation. As the ship is "jockeyed" into a docking position. As for ash, we have had multiple aft cabins. Had ash once. It was cleaned (furniture and deck) within 1 hour, so no problem. Ash happens when the ships direction and the winds is coming directly into the bow, otherwise, the ash goes off either side of the ship.

Exactly! Give them a call, they tend to get right on it.

Ash is less frequent on the aft of Freedom Class ships, as the Aft cabins have a superstructure over it. It's not like some of the very open balconies on smaller ships.

 

We've never seen ash on the Liberty afts, whereas we have on Enchantment and Vision.

 

You can also point it out to your cabin steward, as they will take care of it every day, if it's there.

On our Indy TA we had severe soot problems almost every day.... and because of that they did only clean it every 2 day as all the afts needed cleaning...
