davy jones Posted June 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Has the drink card been offered on recent cruises? We probably only have one drink per day, so the drink package does not make sense.
Clarea Posted June 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Yes, it has been reported, normally first showing up in the last half of the cruise.
boatclub1 Posted June 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Hello, How about seeing the drink card offered on the Anthem of the Seas? We will be on the ship this August. You would think the drink card would be offered through out all days on the ship - RC wants to make money. Bars are supposed to have this cards offered, I would ask there. not-enough-cruising Posted June 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Boatclub1, the drink cards are only offered when the ship is behind quota on their most profitable item, alcohol. That is why you never see them early in the week, and often times never see them. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Like with all ships it's hit and miss week to week. Offering these cards are done when Liquor sales for that sailing are down, it's a way for them to make a weekly quota... boatclub1 Posted June 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Ok, that is good to know....I will keep my eyes open for one. We do not drink enough for a package, but if a drink card did come available I may buy one depending on the price. L~from NY
davy jones Posted June 12, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Sounds like drink cards are offered when they believe that the passengers are a bit sedate and need a little loosening up! :)
Sail2k Posted June 12, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Don't know if it is normal, but on our last cruise on Oasis for Thanksgiving, I asked one of the pool bartenders when the drink cards were coming out and he said " do you want one, I can get you one anytime." I told him that would be great, and he got his manager and his manager was more than happy to sell us one. Again, I don't know if that is normal on the 2nd day of the cruise, but they were very excited to sell it to us. I think they get commission or some type of credit for selling it, because the manager guy told us to make sure when we need another one to come back to the pool bar to purchase it if we would, and we did. boatclub1 Posted June 12, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Sail2K - that is good to know - I will check it out. I would think that selling anything on the ships to make money is a go anytime. L~NY
ButterflyGA Posted June 12, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Just came back from the Adventure and the drink card was offered on the last 3 days, but only for beers... I believe it was 10 beers for $49. The drink card for mixed drinks was never offered.
Tillie43 Posted June 12, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Curious about the drink cards. What is a “normal” sale price for the drink cards? I know the beer cards are strictly for beer but can you buy any drink (wine, frozen, beer) with the drink card? We will be on Serenade OTS if that makes a difference. TIA. The prices I've seen most often is $79, plus 18%. Same drinks and limit as the Deluxe Beverage package.
