OP, just call Carnival and get the correct newer to your question. Get name of Carnival worker, time, date etc.

I never have, or never would give access to my credit to any child, or friend, under any circumstance. It takes one mistake to ruin it for years.

 

Use a card that allows you to control additional cardholders. My son is an authorized user on my American Express and I can limit his spending on that particular card to avoid him "ruining my credit for years".
