Underwatr Posted June 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2018 NBC aired the last day of the Royal Ascot races today in the US. One of the human interest filler segments discussed the dress codes for the various areas (enclosures) at Ascot, and since Queen Mary 2 is known for its formal dress code they had filmed a couple enjoying the various public areas (deck quoits, the Champagne Bar, the Chart Room, the Commodore Club, etc) while dressed appropriately for the Ascot enclosures being discussed. While I was looking for the footage online I saw a mention that "Ascot Racecourse has announced a new collaboration with luxury cruise brand Cunard with the release of this year's style guide." I took it as a good sign that Cunard wasn't about to go all-casual soon. :)
Underwatr Posted June 23, 2018 Author #2 Share Posted June 23, 2018 Also this. Still looking for the QM2 footage. Note that socks are specifically required for gentlemen.
Cats2010 Posted June 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2018 I love to wear elegant dresses during the day and in the evening, but in this case it would be preferable to stay with the feet on the ground. For both ladies and gentlemen it would be rather impractical to wear these hats on a ship, both inside and out.
