Giovanni's on Allure of the Seas

Recommended Posts

Host CLAREA,

Every time you posted how much you liked the filet in Giovanni's, I kind of cringed as my three experiences there were just ok, nothing great. I always preferred Chops filet.

Last week we decided to try it again and this time I have to agree with you. The filet was so tender it could be cut with a butter knife. There was a different manager there than the other times we have been and the service etc was wonderful.

We did have dinner in Chops three nights and our favorite waiter was home for a medical emergency. We had two other servers, Leto and Claudio. I asked Claudio why they did away with the onion soup and he didn't know the reason, but asked if we were coming back again during the trip. We told him we were coming back the next night. He had onion soup for us and it was delicious with tons of cheese. It was also lobster night and I am the only one in my family who will eat it. He said he would bring me lobster with the small filet. I was surprised that he brought me three whole tails split in half. Needless to say, I didn't touch the filet at all nor did I eat any of the sides. I thought the lobster tasted better than that in the MDR as it didn't have the herby butter on it, just clarified butter alongside.

We also dined in Samba twice. We enjoyed that also. I thought their au gratin potatoes were really good. I also loved the grilled red onions and squash.

The first night we went to Hibachi and that was fun. I had the scallops and lobster which were very good. My son and his wife had steak and chicken, but they just thought it was ok. My granddaughter had the filet and her mother and father tasted it and plan to order it when we go on Allure again next June,

Now, I am back home having to cook for myself, darn. We had a great time on the ship and are looking forward to going next year, albeit to different ports,
