cruisetek Posted July 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Tracy's Crab Shack in Juneau, for sure! There's also a kiosk called Crepe Escape that makes some really delicious sweet or savory crepes that you can eat while wandering. In Victoria it's hard to beat Jam Cafe, but it has limited hours (only open until 3pm, I think) and can have quite a line waiting to get in. The Pink Bicycle does some great burgers, they have a lot of various meats on offer and prices are reasonable.
Ashland Posted July 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Travel. Eat. Repeat. My words to live by. I'm a foodie, show me to the good stuff. What's your recommendation of the best places to eat in Juneau? Skagway? And Victoria? Juneau we like Tracy's Crab Shack and pick up some amazing fudge at the Alaskan Fudge Company. Skagway we like the Skagway Brewing Company.
Marylandteachergirl Posted July 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2018 In Juneau: Twisted Fish or Hangar on the Wharf. In Skagway, the best fish I have ever had (halibut) at Skagway Seafood Company.

TheSecondSister Posted July 4, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2018 For Juneau, I highly recommend Salt (http://www.saltalaska.com/) - small plates, dinner, dessert, wine and cocktails. Puts everything fine into the term fine-dining without any snob factor. The food is delicious and the wine, beer and cocktail selections can’t be beat. (Try the Ginger Snap and then thank me.) The chef, Lionel Uddipa, was born and raised in Juneau. But you can't go wrong at Tracy's King Crab Shack for anything crab (their bisque is really really good) and Hangar on the Wharf makes a good burger or fish 'n chips. For Skagway, check out Starfire (http://starfirealaska.com/). It's a Thai/Asian place (I know, not something you think of in a small town of 1,100 people in Alaska) but it's absolutely one of the best I've ever eaten. Their Prik Pao (fried rockfish with basil, tomatoes, mushrooms, tamarind and chilies) is amazing! For Victoria, check out Aura (https://www.aurarestaurant.ca/) for great seafood overlooking the Inner Harbor. Nor can you go wrong with Blue Crab Seafood House (http://bluecrab.ca/) or Ten Acres Kitchen (https://10acreskitchen.ca/) And best of all, all of the restaurants I've mentioned are within pretty easy walking distance of the cruise dock. Even for a somewhat gimpy middle-aged woman like me :)
