mafig Posted July 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2018 I was looking for something to purchase that was Italian when we were on Divina. Several people told me they have beautiful Murano glass beaded necklaces for sale. I looked and looked, going from one end of the ship to the other. Never found them. Anything like this on Seaside? perakcruiser Posted July 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2018 Yes, Limoncello. And if the Seaside has a Eataly Restaurant they sell some nice Italian products there that are ideal gifts. I have read in the daily program that they had an event where they sold Murano glass on the pooldeck.
mafig Posted July 6, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted July 6, 2018 The Murano glass would be nice. I was also hoping for some leather products. But it doesn't seem like it.
SirWolf Posted July 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2018 Unfortunately most so called Murano Glass products are made in China. Even in Venice it is very difficult to find authentic Murano Glass unless you drive with a boat to the islands where they actually produce Murano Glass in just a few small factories. Authentic Murano Glass comes with a seal and Certificate of Authenticity and I recommend taking photos of the artist with the Glass piece and the shop for proof in the future. Murano Glass is handmade by an artist, it takes time and each piece is unique.
