There's no currency exchange onboard MSC ships - including the casino. You can use your cruisecard, either in the machines or at the tables, and have your onboard account charged.

Thank you. Good to know.

I am not cruising until next May. MSC is new to me after several NCL's in the Haven.

I have written a whole page full of questions and as I read the answers here on Cruise critic I cross it off - it's kind of fun - like a crossword puzzle.

Glad it helped (hope it did the OP, too).

Are you booked in YC?

Does this mean you can’t feed paper money into the slot machines?

I’ve typically just put in a $20 on any night I gambled to keep me from getting carried away.

No, the machines still accept notes - you just need the correct currency - which can be Euros or dollars, depending on the region the ship is sailing.

Yes. I am going on my first solo so I booked YC inside. I really do not like them, my first on Norway was inside and I said "never again"... but I think by myself its doable.

I know the feeling ... we're booked in insides in YC for a couple of cruises (the balcony cabins were crazy prices when we booked ). We haven't had an inside cabin since my first cruise back in 2000! But the YC experience beats any other so we're prepared to compromise.
