the mice Posted July 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2018 We are on the Azamara Journey docking at Vartahamnen V523 on Saturday, August 18, overnight stay. We will disembark on Sunday, and fly home Tuesday, so we have 3 days in Stockholm. Since I haven't been able to find out if Azamara is running a shuttle, or exactly when we might get off the ship on day 1 (docking is listed as 9:30am), I'm trying to come up with a few alternative daily plans. We would like to go to Millesgarden and I've figured out how to do that from our hotel. But I realize it is fairly close to Vartahamnen, so I was thinking of maybe going there first on day 1 and then afterward going to T-Centralen for other things near there. However, I'm a little confused about the best way to get to Millesgarden from the port. I have found bus routes (76 to 221 to 238), but then I read about something called the Lindingobanan. Is this a boat? Help and advice appreciated. Thanks.
Desdichado62 Posted July 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2018 Lidingöbanan is a local train/tram that runs from Ropsten to Gåshaga on LIdingö. It's nearest stop is Baggeby which is about 700m from Millesgården. You could either do what you search says or you could use bus 76 to Ropsten, Lidingöbanan to Baggeby station and then either walk from there (700m) or travel with bus 238. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Liding%C3%B6+Baggeby+station/Millesg%C3%A5rden/@59.3574441,18.1267155,16.25z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f82d1147584eb:0xd0a21aea4e76fd35!2m2!1d18.1337777!2d59.3568824!1m5!1m1!1s0x465f82d337d009bd:0xd2f69d03f00b3954!2m2!1d18.1216863!2d59.3586867!3e2?hl=sv Bus all the way or bus+train+walk will both take about 25-30 minutes.
