Could someone confirm I have not missed any fine print? Looking at the go big / better options for Aug 4 on the Equinox. Among all the options, I can add either prepaid gratuities or $300 OBC. The increase to the cruise price is $210 (exactly the amount of gratuities).

 

Seems like a no-brainer to take the $300, and use the $90 leftover for "whatever".

Yes, the only time it works out better for PPG's is when they are included for longer sailings.

I've done that in the past since even paying the extra I'm still coming out ahead. It sometimes makes sense to do it but not always you you really need to pay attention to the price to upgrade vs what you are getting in return.

Or just upgrade to go best and get all 4 perks, plus the upgrade to the premium beverage package - it the price makes sense!

Mark, that’s exactly what I did for our upcoming cruise. TA was running a sale so upgrading was only $300. Even w/ the cancellation fee I came out way ahead. Good thing I’m a numbers person.
