Lfschaper Posted July 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2018 We plan to ferry from the dockyard to St George’s. Will we be able to walk to all of the “must sees” there?
SailBadtheSinner Posted July 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2018 As long as you have no mobility issues, all the "must sees" are walkable. SBtS

We are planning to go back to St. George's and just spend the day there. We did a tour last time and did not get enough time to see all the churches and historic spots. You can also take buses to some of the churches and other sites from there. It's a great little town.
island_iggie Posted July 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2018 Is Tobacco Bay walkable from the St George ferry? If not, are taxis available in St George for Tobacco Bay & again when we are done to return to ferry at St George? island_iggie Posted July 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2018 SBtS Fabulous! Thank you!! Where off the ferry can we locate a taxi? I’m hoping this will be fairly obvious, but I’ll ask anyhow. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

There may be a taxi waiting at the ferry docks, but for certain, you'll find taxis at King's Square. SBtS
Rare carolina_yankee Posted July 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 26, 2018 How much time should one allot for the St. George? We're going doing an island tour on Monday, which includes 30 minutes in St. George. I'm sure I'll want to go back because I'm a history buff, love churches, and also want to do some photography. There is a 9:30 ferry from Docklands, with a return at 1:45 or 3:45. I can see taking more than 3. hours with a lunch, but not sure about 5. Just how small is St. George's and the surrounding area? If weather is nice, we could end up walking to Fort St. Catherine and back, so the 3:45 time might be better. Not sure if it's worth combing a trip to the caves or taking a bus to Hamilton for further exploration and ferrying back from there. Dirk
