TampaCruizeFan Posted July 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Reading some of the reviews from cruisers sailing on the Bliss, there were comments made about diesel "trash" ruining the experience. We have an aft balcony for our cruise in Aug and are concerned about this...has anybody had to deal with this issue on the Bliss or any Norwegian cruise ship? YVRBassElectric Posted July 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2018 We sailed 27 days in an AFT cabin on the Bliss - 12 days deck 11, 15 days deck 13. We did have plastic cups and a bird that room steward had to clean up - steward apologized for the soot once, she cleaned it up and we didn't think it was a big deal, just some black on the ground, this was the last day before entering California waters and I wonder if they were cleaning the system before changing fuel. Alaska has very strict rules about what can be discharged into the air and ocean, so the ship will be running cleaner fuel and using scrubbers, which weren't required in the Panama
kskelley40 Posted July 24, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2018 Has anyone noticed that the deck determines whether or not you get soot? We are on deck 10 Aft on the Star in January. We are right under the spa so I am hoping that will deter any soot from floating onto our balcony. No biggie if it does...just clean it or have the steward check on it. Seacarache Posted July 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2018 We were in an aft balcony on deck 10 on the Bliss also for the 15 day Panama cruise. No issues at all for us....we loved it but now I'm spoiled and had to book another aft balcony for the next cruise!
