Barndoor54 Posted July 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2018 Considering a 7 night cruise in November 2019 on Marella Dream around the Canaries. Looking at this option as OH is not keen on the 3 nights at sea with P and O from Southampton and it is also port intensive. Only concern is the age of the ship, but we are open minded and would give it a go. Is this worth trying and also what are the vegetarian options like aboard. Also does anyone know when Marella release the prices for winter 2019? We did the Colourful Coasts itinerary round the Canaries on Discovery 2 last November and loved it. This year we are doing the alternative Canarian Flavours on Dream - we have sailed on Dream 5 times before but not for the past 3 years; she may be smaller than you are used to, and in need of aome TLC, but she has a massive heart/wonderful crew/good entertainment and is more like a traditional cruise liner than the modern larger ships with antique paintings and ornaments. Plenty of Vegetarian options with Marella (more limited for Vegans) and you can always have a chat with the head waiter to see if there are any extra things available if you don't fancy anything on the main menu. Prices for Winter 2019 will be released this November. We have done 12 Marella cruises in the past 6 years (Dream, Spirit, Majesty, Discovery and Discovery 2) with numbers 13 and 14 booked for later this year so they must be doing something right lol! pblack05 Posted July 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2018 We are also considering this, but in March. The last time we were on a cruise with Marcella was a TA on the Discovery. A great cruise, although the sun bed “run” had to be done before 8am!. I know that this is a port intensive cruise, so the “run” shouldn’t be so bad- or am I wrong? Anyone experienced this on the canaries cruise?

Barndoor54 Posted July 29, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted July 29, 2018 Thank you for your positive replies. We are used to the larger ships ie Azura and Ventura but have used the smaller P and O ships, however do not think it will be an issue. We are usually out and about during the day.
