Question on "Dealer's Choice - Exclusive Offer Rate Applied" (rate code PZ1)

I've been trying to get a hold of my PVP (soon to be ex-PVP) since 24 Jul 18 to get this answer. Does anyone know if the current Dealer's Choice - rate code PZ1 is ANY type of early saver rate? I'm currently booked under a refundable Past Guest rate and do not want to fall into the early/super saver rate category?

I'd like to submit a price reduction for my Jan 2020 cruise but I want to be positive I won't be thrown into early saver status. Obviously I'll have to do it myself since I can't get a response from my PVP.

Thanks in advance.

I am booked under this deal and it is not an early saver rate. I know this because I booed three rooms and had a question about one of them. I was told the other two are early saver and mine was not. I would still call someone at carnival to confirm.

If I had tried to reach my PVP for 4+ days with no response, she'd be an "ex" too.

Why don't you call the casino desk directly? The booking has to be done by them anyway, even through your PVP. If you get the right answer and want to make the change so you don't lose the rate or the room, I'd go for it. I'm not sure if they'd say you have to wait for your PVP, but if they don't, go ahead and make the change. You can explain later as you are bidding adieu.

Let us know what happens!

PZ1 is a non-refundable deposit without price protection.

You can book PZ1 online without going through a casino department, but if you want to match, you would have to go through Carnival. It would switch you from a past guest rate and might change your deposit amount.

I had the past guest....$800 deposit. Then I switched to the PZ1....with a $198 deposit. They still have the rest ($602)of my money, but if I cancel it will be refunded.

They had to "cancel & rebook" to make the change.....so I assume if I asked I could have got the $602 back at this point.

The casino rate is not "early saver"....but there is a $98/pp non-refundable deposit.

This.

We booked under PZ1 in June. It was cheaper than past guest offer.

Update: I never did get a hold of my (EX) PVP so I called the 1-800 #. I was told they couldn't switch me to a new PVP until my next cruise but I could call them for any questions/price matches. Since they didn't know if the Dealer's Choice promo was able to be price matched in the future they sent me to the Promotions Desk. Yes - under this promo I am still able to price match until my final payment date. I just saved $200.00. Thank goodness for this forum and all your help/advice.
