CC class overhang - Infinity

I recently read, on another site, many negative comments about the overhang on the CC class cabins on the Infinity. We have a reservation for the Jult 11th sailing, cabin 9108. Is it that much of a problem - darkness, limited view ...? If we move to a lower deck we lose the benefits of the concierge class. Any comments appreciated.

Sippican, We were on the cc deck on Millennium with the same overhang. We actually liked it. The room was definitely not dark and the overhang provided a lot of privacy. We would book that deck again in a minute. No noise either. Go, try it. It was our best cruise ever.

You will have a good deal of shade. The problems that I encountered while not a big deal to some are;
Tough to take pictures because of all the supports attached to the balconies and the deck overhead
If you enjoy looking at the stars at night, you will have a hard time. The overhang gives you the horizon and not much sky.
Be sure your balcony isn't near where the window washing machine is always parked, it blocks more of the limited view you will be starting out with.
The CC perks are very nice, they had to throw in something to make up for the overhang.

We were on Infinity 2 years ago, but I can't remember the cabin title of "CC". If you are talking about the veranda cabins on the sky deck, they are in a great location and we didn't notice any noise from the resort deck above. If you plan on taking any pictures from the balcony, the support beams will drive you nuts. Impossible to shoot forward or aft and even straight to the side is a challenge. Don't know about perks since they weren't available when we cruised.

We were in CC on Constellation in December (#9131) and had friends next door in 9133. We both agreed the overhang was just fine, in fact, gave us sun protection during the sunset hours. I had also read the negative comments on the boards about this overhang but was able to find a photo of Millie posted on the CC boards which led me to believe all would be fine, which it was. I thought it was a benefit, not a detraction. It did not make the cabin dark inside but did keep it cool!

I don't believe the window cleaning contraptions would affect any of the CC cabins. On Summit, I noted these devices were around cabins 9185, 9189 and 9193. Check out www.cruisestateroom.com for more specific advice if you think there's a concern.
