Ok, since I originally asked this question, we have reserved a one way rental at 8am at Canada Place with a National Free Day and Executive Elite , applied for and received Global Entry, and upgraded to a Suite on the ship to get priority disembarkation. I am excited to have these plans in place now and still plan on using Gardyloo's Option 2 for our journey!
