sharkster77 Posted August 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2018 Viking customer service gets knocked around a lot on these boards--they have a reputation of being difficult to work with, while the folks on the ships bend over backwards for the passengers. Well I had to call Viking customer service today, and I have to give credit where credit is due. I needed our middle names added to our reservation (must match names on passports exactly when buying airfare). The person I spoke to was pleasant, polite, and fixed the problem right away! People tend to post when they are dissatisfied, not as much when they are satisfied. I am giving Viking praise for excellent customer service--thank you Viking!! Rare austinetc Posted August 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2018 I've noticed that Viking corporate doesn't initially react well to unplanned events. I've watched from the sidelines while they had to manage two unanticipated events and seen them stumble for the first few days. But in both instances they quickly ramp up customer service and things then go very well. I theorize that they don't staff HQ with an overabundance of personnel, deciding to spend money on shipboard amenities. I can't disagree with their priorities.
