Lovinglife11 Posted September 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2018 We are a family of 5 trying to find a hotel in Barcelona for 2 nights pre-cruise. I've been researching for hours and many of the hotels recommended on CC are already sold out. Has anyone stayed in H10 Marina Barcelona? It looks nice (the pool area is iffy, but I'm finding that many of the European hotels are the same) and the reviews are good. I really want to be in an area where we can leave the hotel and walk to places, but we don't mind taking a taxi if we have to. Any recommendations would be appreciated :-)
ANNA40 Posted September 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Hi, This hotel is in walking distance to the beach and to the Parc de la Ciutadella, for example. It's near of metro Bogatell, yellow line, that in 4 stops takes you to Urquinaona, besides Plaça Catalunya or in 3 near the Cathedral... krmnc Posted September 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2018 We stayed at the H10 Universitad last Sept. It was a nice hotel and was reasonably priced. We were able to take the Aerobus from the airport to the Plaza Catalunya which was just a short walk to the hotel. It was centrally located to Las Ramblas, subway stops and lots of restaurants. We stayed there one night pre-cruise and then took a taxi to the Pier the next day.
camel Posted September 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2018 We stayed at the H10 Near the Plaza Catalunya on Sept 9, 2018 for a post-cruise night. It was a nice hotel but you should know that the facade is under construction. They serve a nice breakfast starting at 0730 AM to 1030AM. We were able to take the Aerobus (Bus A1 serves Terminal 1, which is the terminal for most U.S. airlines) to the airport to the Plaza Catalunya. Cost for the bus was 5.90 euro each and you can pay the bus driver as you board the bus. The bus takes about 30-35 minutes to get to the airport. Taxis from this hotel run about 30-35 euro. As the previous poster mentioned, the hotel is centrally located to Las Ramblas, subway stops and lots of restaurants. The noise from Las Ramblas may be an issue for you if it's a weekend night -- lots of merrymakers out and about!

Lovinglife11 Posted October 8, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Thank you all for the information! I ended up booking another H10 hotel, it's the Cassonova. It seems to be more centrally located. Even though this trip isn't until July 2019, I can't wait!!!
Bases5 Posted November 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 26, 2018 We are staying at H10 Universitad post cruise in early March 2019. I’m glad you all said it was a OK hotel. Looking forward to our trip Any special tips for this location
grnrab Posted November 26, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 26, 2018 Bases 5 Just be aware that H10 Universitat is on a very very busy street that is heavily traversed by buses. You are close to Placa Cataluyna and Las Ramblas but in general that whole area is quite congested pedestrian and auto wise. I would recommend other areas off busy streets regardless of the hotel chain/ I suggest looking for a back room away from the Universitat side. H10 Marina is a quieter area near the large city park yet also by a metro station.
