I was on Carnival Triumph for Spring Break this past March. :D We did the 7 day W. Caribbean out of Miami. I have to say that there was never ever any puke sightings or disrespectful people. We were never ever put in an uncomfortable situation with all those college kids. In fact we (in our 30's ) forgot all about the fact that it was spring break a day after we sailed. We did have our son with us who was 12 at the time. We found everything to be fine, no major problems to report. What ever line or ship you choose I hope you have a great time.:p

We have cruised on Carnival, Celebrity and RCI - Although we only did RCI once, we really enjoyed it. Celebrity is a bit more subdued, but we are those "low-life" people that MomofMeg referred to earlier and we tend to imbibe a bit while we are on vacation. That said, my husband would never swear at me in the dining room:eek:.

Carnival pools are not as nice as the ones on RCI - that little rim around the pool is very nice if you don't actually want to jump in, but just to soak your feet or even sit in four inches of water! Even though I love to swim, I hardly ever go in the pools, just lay by them and read once in awhile.

Carnival does have a bit more party flavor to it, but both my mother and mother in law came on a five day Carnival cruise with us and they had a blast! I don't think they really saw any heavy drinking as they weren't actually looking for it. However, if you were on the Triumph in November, you probably ran into a couple of drunk 21 year olds that we took along (dd and friend), but I am hoping they didn't deposit any vomit anywhere - yuck!!

Any way you slice it, it's your vacation and you will enjoy it!! Smaller rooms and all:)

I have nothing against people drinking- but partying until they drink so much they are vomiting or making themselves obnoxious around others that is a differant story. People should have a good time but they should also know when they have had too much.

My POINT in bringing that up is that that can happen on ANY line- but most often on the 3 day mini cruises-it seems people on them go nuts and think they must get 7 days of partying into 3.

I just wanted to add to my last post- I hope I did not say "low life" if I did I am sorry. That really has upset me that this person said I said "low life" as though I would say that about a person because they had an alcoholic drink-if I felt that way I would be calling myself, my hubby and my daughter "low lives." I am not a tee-totaler-and do feel there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol-it does add to enjoyment of life.

But I do feel it is wrong when rude, obnoxious, belligerent people make others miserable- especially when their personality changes because they have drank too much, and this is why they are being rude, belligerent and obnoxious.

Just like the man I mentioned that was on Mariner of the Seas with me. He was like two different people-this loud obnoxious guy that one night in the piano bar-and this very quiet mild man on the shuttle back to the Radison after the cruise. So it was obvious to me alochol changed his personality and NOT for the better.

But my whole point to the OP that this had happened only a handful of times and I have been on ten cruises-and fortunately for me anyway-I have NEVER come across vomit on a cruise.

Okay I went back and read all my posts on this thread and what I said was "low class"-not "low life"- now let me define what "low class" means to me before someone else flames me or takes offense.

Low class has nothing to do with education, bank accounts or "blood lines" by my definition.

To me low class is a person who only thinks only of them selves and THEIR RIGHTS, how good a time THEY are having-if they make others around them miserable or if they are infringing on others RIGHTS to enjoy theirselves-they do not care-they only care about themselves. That is what I mean by "low class" and believe me -I have run into a few tee totalers I would consider "low class" also.

We sail on Norwegian, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean and enjoy different ships on each of these cruiselines. You can generally expect a party atmostphere on both cruiselines on 3-4 night cruises.

Carnival definetely has more cabin space. Not only is the cabin tiny on SOS, but the bathroom is extremely compact on SOS. Large size people have difficulty moving around in the shower. If you are thin, you will have no problem.

The rear pools on Carnival are my favorite of any cruiseline when sailing from a hot weather port. I enjoy that area because it is quiet and away from noise of the main pool and it is not windy. It is always easy to find an empty hot tub back there as well. Carnival ships have waterslides at the main pool, which young people really enjoy.

I find dining very similar on both cruiseships. However, the 24 hour pizzeria is fantastic on Carnival. I also enjoy sitting outdoors on the Carnival ship behind the pizzeria watching the wake.

I also find the design of the Carnival ship better for nonsmokers because there is a hallway along one side of the ship separated from the casino. I find it annoying on RCCL ships when I have to walk thru the smoke filled areas to get to theater.

Not Carnival spirit class ships like the Miracle-they have a superslide that is not attached to a pool-but that is true of the fanasty class.

This person will like Sovereign must better than a fanasty class ship in my opinion.
