kevin priestley Posted January 10, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Hello I just spent the better part of two hours on the computer and then calling Marriot directly only to find out that the Spring Hill Suites in Fort Lauderdale by Marriot has been sold. Now the problem, my wife and I loved the SHS, having stayed their four previous times before our cruises. Now we are looking for a place to stay for 6 to 7 couples for a Friday stay at a hotel for a reasonable rate that has free transports to and from the Airport and the port as well as complimentary breakfast. Can anyone help us out. We are going to arrive December 1, 2006.
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted January 10, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Are they not honoring standing reservations? Is the hotel closed? Ask them for a recommendation. ***
kevin priestley Posted January 10, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Marriot sold the SHS to an outfit called The Stirling Suites which Marriot gave us the phone number but we would like to use our Marriot points and we also have 6 to 7 other couples coming so we need something reasonable.I callled the Stirling Suites but they told us to book on line but we could not get a rate. FitzLA Posted January 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 10, 2006 There are a ton of Marriott Properties in Fll. Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel Fort Lauderdale Marina Marriott Marriott's BeachPlace Towers, A Marriott Vacation Club Resort Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Courtyard Fort Lauderdale East TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West Fairfield Inn Fort Lauderdale North Fort Lauderdale Marriott North Courtyard Fort Lauderdale North/Cypress Creek And these are all in Fort Lauderdale and Marriott properties. Some closer to the ports than others, but if you call the Marriott (800) number, they can tell you which ones are closest. Good luck.

bouhunter Posted January 10, 2006 #7 Share Posted January 10, 2006 I recommend tripadvisor.com to check for property reviews. Good advice. tripadvisor is a great site for hotel reviews. You might also want to post a question or do a search at the Marriot board at flyertalk.com
