Taxman2001 Posted September 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2018 My family and I are going on cruise in December on the Magic. It will be a 4-night cruise. Is there a set rotation for dining or a rotation that is preferable? Thanks. Charles
Shmoo here Posted September 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2018 My family and I are going on cruise in December on the Magic. It will be a 4-night cruise. Is there a set rotation for dining or a rotation that is preferable? Thanks. Charles The typical rotation for a 4 night cruise is 1223. Nights 1, 2, & 4 you have the Signature (rotational) menu in each dining room, while night 3 (usually) is Pirate night and all dining room serve the same menu. Everyone onboard will have the same opportunity to dine in all 3 dining rooms, with all the different menus. Some people have a preference for either being in a specific dining room for a special night, or a preference for which dining room they don't want to do twice. We've never requested a rotation. It's your call if you have a preference.
moki'smommy Posted September 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2018 We don't see the point in requesting a rotation; we are far more concerned with requesting a particular server or head server. By the end of the cruise, each person will have had the opportunity to experience each of the menus. The only difference is which dining room you will be seated in twice--once will be the signature menu, the other the pirate menu. Some people like to be in the fanciest restaurant on formal night, but there is no formal night on a 4 night cruise. Others liked the most tropical themed one on pirate night, but that restaurant has been re-themed. It just doesn't matter!
chemistrynerd Posted September 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2018 If one plans on doing Palo or Remy one night, then the dining rotation might be of more interest.

True, but the way we've handled that is to make the adult dining reservation in advance. Then, if our rotation doesn't work with it, we've gone to the "dining changes" location and explained the problem. We've told them that we don't care whether they change our rotation or our adult dining, but we need something that will make XYZ work. They've always made it happen so it worked for us. lovetotraveltx Posted September 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2018 I call ahead most times and request my rotation. I like to know where I'm eating before I book Remy or Palo so I don't miss a meal or dinner show, I don't want to miss. On a shorter cruise, I always skip the pirate night menu to go to adult dining. oufpat Posted September 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2018 How about 5 night cruises on Magic, anyone have any idea of the dining rotation?
