Binbrooklady Posted September 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2018 We are staying in an apartment near Rialto Mercato and also not far from the Rialto Bridge. Can anyone advice how to get to the People Mover from either of these locations. Thanks for your help.

euro cruiser Posted September 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2018 With the vaporetto you've got a walk at one end or the other, the question is which is worse. With line 1 you can get on at Rialto Mercato and go to Piazzale Roma, where you'd have to walk across the large piazza (a bus depot) to the People Mover entrance. With line 2 you have to cross the Rialto bridge to get to the Rialto C dock, then get off at Tronchetto Mercato, a very short walk with no cars or buses and few people between the dock and the People Mover. Line 2: http://actv.avmspa.it/sites/default/files/R_2%20Orario%20linea%202%20dal%20%2017_SETTEMBRE_2018.pdf Line 1: http://actv.avmspa.it/sites/default/files/Orario%20linea%201B%20dal%2029%20marzo%202018.pdf
edinburgher Posted September 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Some (but not all) cruise lines run shuttles to/from the People Mover on changeover days Check if yours is one. You could also take a vaporetto to P. Roma then a taxi to the cruise terminal. With luggage it would take you closer to the ship. May also be the easiest option overall. Alternatively, take an ACTV vaporetto from near your hotel to any stop where the Alilaguna BLUE or RED line vaporettos also stop (eg S. Marco) and switch companies. New ticket required. These routes go into the cruise terminal. Instead of the ACTV vaporetto you could take the Alilaguna ORANGE vaporetto from near your hotel to S. Marco then switch. You can check routes on the ACTV website, the Alilaguna website or read here: https://europeforvisitors.com/venice/actv/introduction.htm

Maybe Alilaguna boat ride is better option for you.
Rare fabnfortysomething Posted September 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Don't forget that its a long walk from People Mover to ship as well. Maybe Alilaguna boat ride is better option for you. but the people mover at port is within a few hundred yards of the Alilaguna and water taxi piers so same potential long walk to ship applies only way to get physically closer to ship would be a land taxi from P Roma

In September that was €55 for a van port to airport, I believe taxi runs about €45 dependent on traffic.
