Liberty in Costa Maya Tomorrow??

They should be on their Eastern itinerary this week, then back to the Western come Sunday. I'll be on that one and am hoping we go to Montego bay instead of Costa Maya as it sounds as if that port is just too small for so many ships now that Cozumel is off limits to many ships.:D

Supposed to go to Costa Maya next week. That is what the papers I received said from Carnival. We leave on the 15th from Ft. Lauderdale on the Liberty.

I know the docs say Costa Maya, but the last Western route last week went to Jamaica instead because there were too many ships there. Personally, I'm hoping for Jamaica - don't want to be in a tiny place with thousands of guests overcrowding everything! I read this on a post last week.:D

The trick is if you end up in costa Maya book the ships tour of Kohunlich a wonderful mayan ruin.. it is more than two hrs. away from all the crowds.. and you are touring in smaller very doable groups.. You won't know the other ships are there!!

It was fabulous..

Kewl.. So I know when you come back-- its my turn next for the 6 day after you.

I too booked with David and IVan for our cruise.

I been to Costa Maya before and wouldnt mind Montego bay.

I have a plan B for any port we go to.

wishing it was Cozumel since that was the reason I booked in the first place.. never was in a port after 5pm-woulda been nice to see it at dark. My plan here was to rent a ar and head to the other side of the island.. eat at coconuts..

Costa Maya-- David and Ivan tour..then grab a bite to eat at Tappas in Majuahaul before we need to head back to the ship.

Motego bay-- I want to visit Rose Hall estate and do a ghost walk.

so you see-- Im ready.

i look forward to hearing all about your 6 day trip. I mean I want to hear everything--so dont miss nothing ok

I saw somewhere the reason was there were 7 ships in Costa Maya so the went to another port. We leave on the Liberty on 1/15 and saw on here somewhere there will be 4 ships in port and Liberty will be there 3rd.

We are sailing on the 21st - Costa Maya is scheduled for the Monday. Do you really think there is a possiblity of hitting a different port? I haven't even considered that... there is the site that says what ship is in what port on certain days, but I didn't check it out for Costa Maya.

What are your thoughts/experiences?

melissa- that site is not reliable when it comes to changed ports-- It has us down in Cozumel come Februar 12th. I know we are going to costa maya

An on the flip side they had us down for Costa Maya for at least the few weeks I was ckecking BEFORE Carnival even officially announced that we would be going to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel.
