Ellaleah Posted October 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2018 We will have 1 day in St Kitts. I’m interested in the scenic railroad and if it is worthwhile. Also, any experiences with private tours operators. Appreciate any input. Thank you.
paul58 Posted October 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2018 For the most part the train can only be booked through the ship if the cruise line has an agreement with the train. Private operators are pretty good and usually cheaper than something booked through the ship. They also might have something more unique that is not offered through the ship. Stinger-pr Posted October 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2018 I have toured twice with Thenford Grey. Personally I would recommend his tours and company no questions asked. Both times were a bit different experiences since we had different drivers but both were good. There were some things that were not interested to us but only for the reason that the island has a some similarities to Puerto Rico, where I live, especially in the countryside and the sugar cane industry and history. Once we were taken to Carambola Beach club and the other to Shipwreck Bar and Grill on the other side of the beach (which we preffered).
OCruisers Posted October 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2018 The scenic railway "Sugar Train" is a great and very enjoyable thing to do once ... takes you to parts of the island you are unlikely see otherwise.
