Getting Luggage Tags at Pier in Galveston?

Recommended Posts

DH and I just signed up for a cruise on the Splendour of the Seas on 1/26. Because of our late decision, I received e-docs. Part of the instructions say to pick up our luggage tags at the pier. Anyone ever done that? Do we just get them from any porter? Where do we go?

By the way, does anyone have anything to share about the differences between the Rhapsody and the Splendour?

Thanks.

vicki: When you arrive at the terminal, just let the porter know that you need luggage tags and he will take you to the desk where you can get your tags. Make sure and have your e-docs with you. Have cruised on the Rhapsody many times and will be sailing on the Splendour during Thanksgiving 2006.

Most of the porters will have additional tags with them. Just be sure you know your cabin number to put on them. I would take a large point Sharpie to make the number easier to read for the people taking the luggage to the rooms.

The two ships are sisters, but laid out different. The Splendour has the lounge above the main theater, so if you go from one to the other you do not have to go thru the caasino. Schooner bar is midship on one side opposite the casino on the other side. The casino is smaller.

A lot less casual ship as the 4 and 5 days get a more casual group and there are quite few repeat cruisers percentage wise. The food seemed better than the Rhapsody has been lately and the staff and crew are quite friendly although not quite up to the extreme high level of the Rhapsody.:)

Just wanted to say thanks to you both! We've had a winter of houseguests and I've had a bout of bronchitis that is finally going away! We've both been real busy at work. In short, to paraphase Jimmy Buffet - "I think I've got cabin fever. I've gotta go where it's warm."

So, two days ago, we decided to book a get away and I am so glad we did!

However, this is the first time this anal-compulsive traveller has come close to doing anything on the spur of the moment. I figured the luggage tag problem was a minor one. However, it does put my mind at ease to know that it's so easily handled.

Am looking forward to discovering the difference in the two ships. I had guessed that maybe the four day cruise would be more casual. It is nice to have that confirmed as well.
