Queenk2 Posted January 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2006 I am looking to purchase air from either NJ Newark or another metropolitan airport for Dec 22 with a return on Jan1. I do need 8 tickets so price is critical! I am planning on buying one way tickets because I think that will be easier, however does anyone know when Jet Blue or Spirit release their seats for this day. I like Continental, however they always jack up the fare beginning with a week before Christmas...any good ideas out there in Cyber land? Thanks, Karen

PoohUnderstands Posted January 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Flights first become available from around the 330th day from your return flight date, not going. Therefore you would have to wait until around( I am horrible in this type of math!) February 4th for the flights to be listed. I am assuming you are flying to FLL or Miami??????? So do some research and find out what a decent price in June, let's say would be, and then start checking prices for the dates you need. I did that for my upcoming Med. cruise and was surprised at the price I saw on the 329th day, so went ahead and booked and I am still the lowest for my flights!! Good luck. Queenk2 Posted January 13, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted January 13, 2006 Thanks. I have been researching and found Conintental has direct flights 79 each way ewr to pbi. I am concerned that they will hold back the holiday fares...as usually happens. Perhaps I will get lucky! LOL! Karen
Queenk2 Posted February 5, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted February 5, 2006 As I assumed Continental jacked up the price by hundreds starting on Dec20th. I did get lucky with Delta and booked non stop JFK to PBI for 180 round trip. I know thay are in bancruptcy, however I think they will fly for a long time...look at United and Continental before them.
