Looking for private tour

I have seen before people post who they have hired for the day when they are in on a cruise.  Has anyone hired a taxi for the day here? If so did you just do it when you got off the boat or in advance.  Any advice on how to do this would be great and what are must do's and any idea on cost.  TIA

I always prefer to book in advance, so I can work with the vendor to pre-plan and guarantee space.  On St. Thomas I use David's Fun Tours and share via roll call if I want to split the price.

 

For a party of 2 who doesn't want to share, a taxi will probably cheaper, but not all taxi drivers are great guides.

 

Also depends on what you want to do.   For example, we don't do any beach time,.
