dancingmary Posted October 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2018 When I book a cruise with my travel agent, A-E Platinum card gives $300 shipboard credit. Virtuoso also gives $400 shipboard credit. . Regent says I can only use one "promotion. Has anyone else had this happen?
gnomie1 Posted October 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2018 (edited) The A-E platinum promotion was initially only for those who booked through the AE travel service but is now available to bookings made from any TA and paid with the platinum card, however, it is still considered a TA benefit, as is the Virtuoso benefit and only one such benefit is allowed. They have also changed the rules with the shareholder benefit (holder of NCLH stock) cannot be combined with other benefits. My TA seems to be able to offer better benefits than the $300 offered by Amex so as far as cruise benefits, the platinum card is not as valuable as it used to be. So, yes, you can use either or, but not both . gnomie Edited October 26, 2018 by gnomie1
Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 27, 2018 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2018 Yes, I encountered that a few years back. I've since cancelled my Plat since it wasn't useful to me.
