Booking Tour Vendors at the Port on the Day

We are in St Thomas on the 13th of December on the Norwegian Escape - there will be 2 cruise ships in port on this day including ours - just wondering if it's worth waiting until our arrival and then picking up a tour at the port - given that we've done our research and have a fair idea what we want to do?  There are 6 in our group.

There will be taxis there that you can book.  That said, for 6 I would find a private vendor, that way they are waiting for you when you get there, the itinerary is already planned, etc, saving you time and effort negotiating and setting the route.

Any tips on how I would go about finding a private vendor?

There are many threads on here giving reviews and suggestions.

I recommend David at David's Fun Tours often, there are others that come up regularly.
