Getting from Venice, FL to Port Canaveral

We are going to be staying with friends in Venice, Fl for a few day in February and are considering taking a cruise out of Port Canaveral.

Does anyone know if there is any public transportation or scheduled shuttle between the two?

short answer is no for Port Canaveral .. there is a bus for Tampa or Everglades or Miami :

(with a r/t cost of $90 pp, it ain't cheap .. renting a car is cheaper IME)

 

your easiest option is to rent a car ... two one way rentals is best (why pay to park a rental)

 

all the companies in Canaveral/Cocoa Beach run free shuttles to/from the terminals.  Your choices are

 

National/Alamo/Enterprise  (co located, in the port)

Hertz (just outside the port)

Budget (about 1 mile from the port)

Dollar/Thrifty (co located about 2 miles)

Avis (across street from Thrifty)

 

when searching these offices are usually listed at Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach (Port Canaveral is not a town)

a cruise from Tampa would be closer .... they do exist ...

 

And your driving distance to Canaveral is almost the same (via 75, 4 & 528) as going to Port Everglades (75 all the way) .... 190 miles in round numbers either way ... just mentioning to add choices for your trip

Thanks Capt_BJ. I appreciate hearing the options. We have looked at cruises from 4 Florida ports, and Port Canaveral was the only one I wasn't sure best way to get there.
