mina Posted January 14, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2006 We are considering a NCL cruise in December -- but want to go before the holiday air traffic! Their shore excusion list says the whale watching excursions run from mid dec on. If we sail Dec 10 thru the 17th -- will we be able to do the excursions? If not, then we are thinking of going the first week of January 2007 -- Thank you!
Suebee Posted January 14, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2006 You can go during that time but you would be better of to go in January if you had the option. The later in the season the better. We went this year after Christmas (the 28th or so?) and were on our way back before we saw two whales not doing a whole lot. I thought for sure we would have to call them on the "no whales and your next trip is free" promise. We did see turtles and a ton of spinner dolphins happy to put on a show for us. That was the highlight for us. I just wanted to add that we did a cruise from Honolulu during the first week of January 2 years ago. It was the Jan 6th week. The cruise was very light of children, the staff wasnt as frazzled as they said they were the week before, and we got to see a lot of whales from the ship while cruising around Maui.
