How long to the Ft. Lauderdale airport

I will be trying to make an earlier flight home after cruising the Enchantment. The flight I want to try for is actually at 11:30 am so I think I will probably make it but very close. Does anyone know how long it takes to get from the cruise ship to the Ft. Lauderdale airport by taxi?

15-20 minutes, with no traffic issues. But you'd better be one of the first off....

We got off Carnival Legend two weeks ago and Carnival let everyone who was willing to take their own luggage off the ship disembark from approx 7.30 a.m. We were at the airport by 8.40. Don't know if RCI let you do this.

It's only a 5-10 minute drive from Port Everglades to FLL, and taxis are quite plentiful - there will be dozens of them waiting when you leave the terminal. You SHOULD be okay with an 11:30am flight IF there are no Customs & Immigration, or baggage handling delays. I would still get early disembarkation, you'll want to be in one of the first groups. If you're flying on a weekend FLL is a ZOO with all the people from the cruise ships. It's a little less insane on most weekdays, but the lines for check-in and security are still quite long at peak times.
