kimberlym4 Posted November 23, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2018 Are there any must see things to do in Falmouth that do not involve a tour company? We are just hoping to walk around a bit ourselves but not commit to an actual excursion. Cheap and free preferred! Any public beaches or good restaurants or historic sites? The gated port area is a bunch of shops and restaurants. There is a Margaritaville that has a pool. Outside the gated port area is the authentic Falmouth which has some historic buildings. The authentic Falmouth is a sketchy area. You will probably be offered drugs, etc. If you have not traveled much in the third world you could feel very uncomfortable. I did take a look there and see a good number of tours described. Was just hoping for other personal experience here.

Forgot to mention there are no public beaches that you can get to without some kind of transport, a cruise line tour or private tour. There are private operators in the gated area who will transport you to a beach without pre arranging, or you can take a taxi from the official taxi area at the port.
