"If I win you should give me my winning chip and replace my promo with a real chip"...

It has been played - so it has to be changed EVERY casino in Vegas and elsewhere does that!

They also do it like this with the slots....

I just consulted the main casino floor manager from PH -> he claims if they would do this in Vegas the gamig commison would close them up...

ALL casinos in Vegas will replace promo chips once they have been on the table! (Also my experience in Vegas)

So there is real life  efidence RCI is scaming their passengers with this!:classic_angry:

It seems to me that if you risk the promo chips once, they should be converted to real chips.

I would assume that wins are paid in real chips or sail pass credit, losses go in the till; if you play some real and some promo at some point you need to play all your promo chips or lose them so wins go in  pocket or on pass and play is use all promo chips first.

Wow his has gotten out of hand.  From trying to figure out how the promo works to this.

Whether you agree or disagree but basically it works like this:

  • Slot promo amount only needs to be played through once
  • Chip promo has to be played though until you have lost all the promo chips
  • Points are earned on your initial buy in but no the bonus
  • any promo amount (slot and chips) not played by the end of the cruise is worthless

Now that you know how it works you can decide if you want to purchase the package or not.

I decided to buy the slot promo and skip the chip promo because I don't agree that promo chips don't get replaced with real chips on a win or push, meaning you have to play them through more than once, but I don't have a beef with it because I understand that is how it works.

I strongly suspect you are just playing stupid....👍

Let me go slower..  The T&C says nothing about needing to play once. RCI cant tell you what to do with your chips. But, they cant be redeemed for cash through the casino. Now, if you choose to play the chips in our casino they won’t be redeemed for cash.

whats tripping you up is the “played through”. They put that in there to further enforce the not redeemable for cash, the only value they have is the ability to play them (through) the game..  The T&C isn’t saying they must be played once or that they must be played, they dont care and have no legal say in to what you do with YOUR chips.

Exactly!  Vegas may do it a different way, but it looks like this is how RCI does it!

While I kind of agree with this -> it reallly gets to me that RCI keeps sneaking this in on their apssengers and what REALLY annoys me is the the cheerleaders even find excuses for this scam - therefore encouriging this behavior by RCI!🤮

I think - RCI thinks their passengers are stupid suckers.....and it seems like many are...:classic_rolleyes:

Didn't say their CEO that too?

Something like...if they spend money on the cruise planner they forget how much they already spend and will spend again....🤑

This is America, you dont have to buy into it. But, i appreciate this forum and people that will work together and help eachother figure out if it’s a good value for them.  I understand what I’m getting into and will, like the above poster buy the slot package and not the table game.

It's a statistical player advantage.  Even with the restrictions, if you go in with the right game plan you are highly favored to walk out with a profit.  The rules definitely make it more work to do that than rules that would be more favorable to the player.  But at the end of the day it's still player advantage.  I'm not complaining.

i had some promotional chips given to me in a bucket when i won a raffle and was told they could not be redeemed but i had to.play thru.  When i put $10 of those chips down and won, those chips stayed there and they paid me with $10 of real chips.  Then i put the real chips away and played on the same promo chips again.  Again i won, putting the $10 real chips away and playing off the same promo chips- that time i lost so i pulled out the next $10 worth of promochips and used them.  Its the same as regular play so i.dont know why this concept is so hard to comprehend.  You just cant cash the promochips in but if you gamble heavy or long you are bound to lose a total of those $500 chips over the week and will still have your winnings, no?

Yes exactly. Anybody who plans to spend some time actually gambling wont have a problem with this, they just need to realize that it will take more than 1 single bet to "play through" the table chips and adjust their initial buy-in accordingly because RCI has a screwy definition of "play through".

I understand where peoples frustration lies though... its very deceitfully worded so somebody expecting to just play through $2000 of chips will wind up being forced to play double, triple or quadruple the amount the intended to gamble because they got caught by wording/definiton. If you know ahead of time to adjust the promo buy-in amount you purchase then you're still good.

This promo would NOT make sense for a hit and run style player. Somebody who plans to walk up and make a single large bet and then be finished. If they lose, they lose. If they win, then they're still forced to bet again until they lose. But like I said, somebody who gambles for a few hours and will go up and down with every hand will not have a problem converting the promo chips back to normal chips in that time.

Actually, I do get it. I’m sorry that it’s not very clear to you. You want to see what you want to see which is why T&C’s are needed to protect companies from people who think they know everything.

Or, make it clear that the promo chips can’t be exchanged for cash at anytime- at the cage or at the table. so the logical conclusion is that i actually need to play until I lose all my promo chips.

sorry i wrote my reply is in the quote. Trying to get the hang of posting!

I think thats where the confusion is coming from. RCI uses the wording "played through" in their T&C but then their definition of "played through" is not congruent with what the rest of the world defines as "played through". And even worse is that they define "played through" differently on the slots vs the table games. Its confusing and surely some people will felt taken advantage of because of this

Its basically the same.. On slots the 'coin in' is consumed and you either win or lose.  The difference is on table games if you win you keep the promo chip.  So table game is better, not worse than slot promo.

Yep.  And even with the promo I'm pretty dang sure the slots are still not player advantage like the table games with the promo.

So all of Vegas is wrong?

Again YOU are interpreting the writing wrong.....it would have to say UNTIL YOU LOOSE in some wording...."play through" means ONCE in the legal world!

But they fully know there are people out there like you.....:classic_rolleyes:

I agree, but in all those play through scenarios you didn’t actually pay dollar for dollar for those chips. i think they hoped the ”can’t be redeemed for cash” took care of all confusion.

These T+C are not designed to protect....they are designed to scam customers....just like the coffee scam...🤮

No that means the table game promo is worse than the slots. On the slots if you wager $5 promo and win you are paid out fully in cash. On the table game if you wager $5 promo you are paid out partially in cash and partially with another $5 promo chip(get your promo chip back). This means the slot player can walk away after wagering the $5 promo dollars just once, but the table player has to continually risk the $5 promo dollars until they lose it. The way the table promo dollar SHOULD work is that you wager $5 promo dollars and win, they give you $10 real dollars, instead we're getting $5 real dollars and $5 promo dollars back.

This is why people are confused and upset. "Played through" means risk the promo dollar ONE time and ONE time only. RCI "played through" for table games means you can never get your money back for the promo dollar and that you HAVE to lose it. Which is fine if you know this going in, but when you get surprised by this screwy definition it would be frustrating.

Played through isn’t a legal term. Non-redeemable is. The chips are not redeemable for cash no matter how many times you play through.  I’ve been fairly courtious responding to you.  No need to be a tough guy keyboard warrior, we are all friends here.

Yeah sure the Billion $ company had the intern draft this and he made a uuuppps....to the disadvantage of the customers....just like the coffee card....ohhhhh😱

Great American management - so efficient and clear and customer focused!👍

Once RC Casino Royale realizes there is a 7% increased advantage to the player, this promo will be dead and buried.

That is if this calculation bears any validity, and to clarify I am not doubting it either.

wouldnt surprise me that they didn’t really do the math on it (RC that is).

I have no hands on experience of this particular promo, However I totally understand it.

Having lived in Casino Royale for the past 18 years and used promo coupons over the years on the ships, these promotions come and go

if there was no limit ($2k) I would certainly take advantage of it with a cherry on top

With the Promo chips in play after a win, real chips go in wife’s pocket.

And as already quoted by the ones who understand it, playing through the promo chips on an average 4-5hr session a night at a $25/$50 table would be a breeze.

Happy wife happy life.

Happy Days!

Yes, but hes not saying he wants to redeem the promo chip for cash, hes saying he wants the promo chip to be replaced with a real chip once it has been risked/gambled in a game, which is what "played through" means.
