Question On Car Rental From Hobby To Galveston

Looked in past posts didn't quite find this answer. Three of us are sailing the Grand April 1st out of Galveston. Flying in the day before and staying in a hotel friday night. We want to know if anyone has rented a car (Enterprise,Hertz etc) at Houston Hobby and drove to Galveston dropped car off and rented a return car for the next week for return to Houston. Any problems with this or is it too much of a hassle ? Do the rental car agencies offer shuttles to the pier ? Thanks for the help.

We rented from Enterprise at IAH (George Bush) and had no problem at all with this. The only thing I warn you about is that the rservation agents don't tell you that you have to return the car by 1pm near the ship or they mightnot have a van to take you to the ship. If I were you I'd plan to get there early, drop your luggage at theship and then refill and return the rental car.
