Littlegoo75 Posted April 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2004 YOu know, wouldn't it be great if they started a new "Love Boat"? What ship do you think they should choose, and what cast of characters would you like to see star in this new show?? Capt. Stubbing....... Gopher............... Issac................ Julie................ Doc.................. Am I forgetting anyone??? We should all write to Aaron Spelling and tell him to resurrect the Love Boat - the best show ever! I had to watch it with my grandma when I was 4 years old, and then I was hooked! Carnival Pride 4/27/02 Sitmar Fairsea 4/ 1983 ( I was just a little kid!!) imatarb Posted April 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2004 I have to admit, I loved Saturday nights w/ the Love Boat and Fantasy Island! Let's see, as for the cast, I'll have to give that some thought. Great idea, though. Think we can send enough signatures/petition to Mr. Spelling? tef43 Posted April 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2004 They *are* resurrecting the Love Boat, with a full-length feature film. I guess the success <cough> of Starsky & Hutch inspired them. They say that many of the original cast has signed on to the project, but if that were the case, they should probably be sailing on HAL. But since you asked, here's my nominations for "Love Boat Returns: Cruise to Oblivion." Capt Stubing - Jeff Probst Gopher - Pauly Shore Julie - Paris Hilton Isaac - Martin Lawrence Doc - Matt Frewer (from Max Headroom fame) Tom <--- Curmudgeon of the Seas Eleven cruises so far. SUSANITA Posted April 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2004 It's funny you posted this, I was thinking about this just two days ago!!! I think it would be an awesome show. I love shows that have ever changing guest stars!! We watched love boat every single Saturday night, without fail. We'd flop the sofa cushions on the floor, be in our jammies, make fried egg sandwiches, it was a weekly event! Cotton Posted April 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Hmmmm. There was a new "Love Boat" series that was on for - what, half a season? - 2-3 yrs. ago. (Robert Urich as Capt. Steubing?) It was on some network that I didn't get, so never saw it. I'm guessing it didn't go over so well, as it's gone pffft! Unfortunately, remakes of old favorites never seem to be up to par. tef43 Posted April 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Yes Cotton, it was "Love Boat: The Next Wave" on UPN. It featured Robert Urich in his last role before passing. momofmeg Posted April 6, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I think this: Captin Stubing-Bruce Willis Gopher- Freddie Prinze Jr. Julie- Kate Hudson Doc- Matthew Perry Issaac- Cuba Gooding Jr.( but maybe he is too big a star for that-if so get Theo the son on Cosby) For Vicky who knows-maybe that Dakota Flemming or that other young actress that was in the pepsi commercials at the movies or maybe even one of Bruce and Demi's real daughters. They also need to have April in there maybe Selma Hayek or Pennelope Cruz could do her.

Littlegoo75 Posted April 6, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Funny....I think they should use the Pride as the new Loveboat since she is in LA. Capt. On another note, wouldn't it be great if they made a reality tv show about a cruiseship - like A&E has "Airline" about Southwest Airlines - which is a great show, they should do the same with "Cruiseship"!!!!!! The new Diamond Princess would probably fit the bill since she is doing Mexican Riviera cruises from LA.
