Childs Identification Question

I'm leaving in March for my cruise on the Vision doing the Mexican Riviera. We're taking our combined 4 children with us. My problem is now I can't find my 7 year old daughters Birth Certificate. I do have it scanned in my computer for sports and such, ..it's easier to print for copies but I can't find the original. Being that she's only 7, will a copy be sufficient? Does she need her birth cert. at all going to Mexico? My DH and I have our passports and our other kids have their Birth Certs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

No, they will not take a computer copy.

I would get her another one as soon as possible from where she was born. You do have the time to do it. Call them, fax them, do whatever is necessary to get it. Make sure it has the raised seal on it also.

Being that you are talking about a child leaving the country, that could be even more important than an adult. I do not believe she will even get on the ship without it.

She will not be allowed to board without a BC with the raised seal.

Also, make sure the birth certificate comes from the state, not the hospital.

You could get passports for all the kids, you're going to be needing them if you plan on future cruising anyway.

Thanks everyone. I figured I would have to get a new one but it never hurts to ask the experts :) It's the kid's first cruise and their first time leaving the country.
