broadwaycam Posted December 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2018 We are thinking of getting the Voom Surf & Stream package. We will be on the Jewel going to the Southern Caribbean. My question is will the internet work well in the Southern Caribbean? Also is it easy to set up an account or whatever you have to do to access the internet on the ship? Clarea Posted December 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2018 Very easy to set up an account once you are onboard. The internet will work in the Southern Caribbean, however performance of video streaming may not be the best.

I was on the Navigator for 9 nights to the ABC islands 3 weeks ago, and my net access was stable throughout the entire cruise. However, I noticed that although performance was sketchy on some floors (Diamond lounge on deck 14 and deck 3 were not very good) even though I had a full strength signal on both these decks, I was able to stream netflix and hulu, though you have to be a little patient as it takes extra long to buffer, but once it does, I generally can watch an entire show without hiccups. The ships with the O3B have a lower ping rate and a slightly higher transfer rate, but without it, it is still usable, albeit slow.
