Gratuities in Star Class

Hi All,

I am reading that the consensus for tipping a Genie who gives good service is about $100 per day but what do you guys give as additional gratuity for the cabin steward and his assistant for good service?

Also for the Genie do you usually hand it to him when he walks you out or the night before?

Thanks!

J.

We usually give it to them the last night.  We are extremely low maintenance, Genie's keep begging us to do more, so we have tipped them between $400-500.  They just make appointments for us.  One time we asked to order dinner on our deck, but that is it.  For our stewards we give usually $150 and slightly less for the assistant.

We give the genie and cabin stewards their tip the day we debark.  The cabin stewards have always been around the room when we leave and the genie has been there to escort us to the customs exit.  We usually tip $100 per person for the cruise unless they go out of their way.  When we were on Anthem and had the genie book all open time slots for the iFly we gave him a little more.  What I had never considered was that he would check us in for our flight out of New Jersey.  We had been trying to get with the concierge to do that and Derick did it for us.  Something to remember.

Thanks. Do you mind saying what you gave the assistant?

We are pretty low maintenance also and did not require a lot from the cabin stewards.  I believe we gave the main steward $50 and the assistant $35.  We hardly saw him.  Derick received $700 or $800 because of what he did with the iFly and bumper cars.  It was also a 10 night so a little longer than a 7 night.

When we gave $150 I believe we gave $125 to the assistant.  They were both seeming to do the same amount and went above and beyond for us.  This last cruise I believe we gave $100 to the head and 65 to the assistant.
