Luggage Drop Off at Port Canaveral

Does anyone know how early you can drop off luggage at Port Canaveral? Carnival says no earlier than 1230. Anybody have any experience with this?

Long before that. We have been on board at noon. Once had a security guard turn us away from the dock area around 10:15. Said we couldn't come in the port until 11:30. came back 15 min later and got thru.

I advised the security guard that we were going to sit in my vehicle and eat our bagels and wait. We also dropped off our luggage around 10:15-10:30 and prechecked in. We then stood in line outside until around 12:00. We were on the ship by 1:00.
