Looking for the longest overnight available

Does anyone have any input or experience with overnight stays in Havana?  We are looking at a 5 night cruise to Havana but want to stay in the Havana port as long as possible.  I did see that RCCL Empress stays in Havana from 8am on Day 4 to 5pm on Day 6 but we aren't really sure about the food options that the Empress provides (my friend is vegan).

Also - how do overnight's work.... can we get off the ship at any time? This is a very silly question but we have to sleep on the ship, correct?  What are the rules - is there a curfew with a set time you have to be back on the ship?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

On an overnight, you can get off and then back on as often as you want. You can stay at a private paladar if you want, or don't sleep at all.

Every ship and every cruise linecan work with you on vegetarian meals. You just need to contact the access desk for your cruise line.

Isn't a paladar a restaurant?

I think you mean casas particulares. Room for rent in a private home like Air B&B.

Paladares are restaurants in private homes.

OP - I did an overnight on Empress last year where we had noon day 1 till 6PM on the second day in Havana. Empress now sails out of Miami.

Majesty does the 5 night now from FLL and stays 8AM  day 1 till noon the second day on select sailings.

Definitely take the itinerary with the longest time available, because many things can happen to shorten your time there - weather, Cuban officials, other ships in port, etc.

Last month on Majesty we went from the originally scheduled 8AM day 1 till 1PM day 2,  to actually 8 AM to 6 PM, on the same day. We lost the evening, and the second half day. Captain indicated it was weather, but we had smooth seas all the way back to FLL, where we arrived a full day early and just sat offshore. Very disappointing.

If you read enough of the reviews, you will see that there are frequent schedule changes like that on the Cuba sailings.
