Caribbean Fly-Cruise.

Recommended Posts

We fly on 3rd Feb from Newcastle to Barbados on a Dreamliner for B2B on Explorer 1.  First time Caribbean, Explorer; Dreamliner.

Some advice please:-

How long is the flight, both ways?

Are there TV's in the headrests and are the films complimentary?

We are not in premium, what's the meals like?

Will our luggage be bonded at Newcastle?

Are the Dress to Impress nights observed?

Are many of the ports OK to DIY?

Coming back, the flight leaves at 17.30; can we use the ships facilities until the coach pick up time?

We will find out what the food, entertainment, AI & ambience is like as we cruise.

Our first cruise was on Island Escape around 2004, enjoyed it.     Been with P&O ever since.

Thank's in advance.

Hi flight time is about 9 hours, but we have actually done the return in just over six hours😁 you get films etc have a look on the tui

site for films etc it is free, we only do premium but the food is the same just extra and it's ok, luggage is normally bonded but never flown from Newcastle . Dress to impress yes I always do the tux thing and about 50/50 do but you don't have to.

All facilities are available whilst on board.

Have a great one😎

Sorry forgot poc most are ok for diy suggest on changeover day you get a taxi to Harbour lights beach for the day also a good day to do speciality restaurant if you like that idea, but lots of great other places to visit as it's your first time. Don't expect to see the typical Caribbean beach in all ports without travelling, with the exception of St Marteen if that's one you visit just 30minutes walk. Suggest you pack a change of summer clothes in your hand luggage for arrival as you may not see your luggage for a couple of hours ,it's straight off the flight,no customs etc, into the coach to the ship.

Found food going out on the dreamliner to pretty good as far as airline food is concerned although that may have been down to the complimentary drinks but, coming back it was awful.Advice would be to purchase something before boarding for return flight

Hi JTS you must have been unlucky with that one we have been many times and not had a problem other than last year when it only took us six hours flight time by the time we finished dinner and had a couple of hours rest they got us up for breakfast:classic_blush: the food was ok but just couldn't face it.

It is a good idea however to take something onboard just incase but I would suggest that's obtained from the snack shack on board as its wrapped ready to go and free!
