Imagination's Late Return

The book says that the Imagination docks at 0800.
Our cab drivers both to the ship and back to the airport stated that the Imagination is always very, very late every time.

We had booked a 1220 flight and missed it. This is after we were one of the first ones off the ship and grabbed a cab right away.

Don't book a flight home too early in the day.

I'm sorry that you missed your flight. I went on the Imagination 2 years ago and it was on schedule departing and arriving.

I think the delay had a lot had to do with the new immigration process. They searched two of our bags and must have done the same with others because we didn't have anything in either one that would cause undo suspicion. One bag with clothes and one with snorkeling gear. There must be 5000+ bags coming off the ship.

However, two different cab drivers stated that the ship is always late off loading. We walked off the ship at 1145 to look for our bags.

Just returned from the Imagination 4-day this morning. It was late as usual. Today they said we couldn't get off the ship because it was raining very unusual for Miami. Express debarkation was from about 8:45 to 9:45. Tours departed next and them it rained again and all debarkation ceased. We were in the first group getting off after the rain stopped and that was at 10:45. At that point it was decided that maybe they should open a 2nd gangway Limo diver said he always comes late for the Imagination. Carnival did say that when the Imagination and Fascination arrive on the same day, as they did today, that Fascination gets debarkation priority.

We just returned from Imagination's five day Western and we pulled in to Miami around 6:00AM! I know it was that hour because we were up getting dressed for breakfast so we could take advantage of the early debark Carnival now has. It worked wonderfully and quickly and we were in our van and on the road by 8:35AM headed north for home! The ship also left right on time when we left Miami on April 1. If you have an early flight, definitely take advantage of the early debark. In order to do this you must be an American citizen, have proof in your hand, and be able to carry 100% of your baggage off the ship yourself, down any steps on the ship and in the terminal. Give it a try....it worked perfectly for us and allowed us to get home a day early! Happy sailing!
