jawouds Posted January 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2019 We booked a Premium tour for two $300 and Angel was our guide. He met us at the Rum museum just a block from the dock and we started our day with a convertible ride to the suburb to see embassies and grand old mansions of pre revolution, Fusterlandia, Malecon, and Revolution Square. Then a walking tour of Old Havan, lunch at a great Paladar, and more sightseeing to Hemingway's hotel with a drink on the rooftop bar with live music and a spectacular view. It was hot and humid so we went back to the ship late afternoon to shower and change before meeting Angel again and taking another vintage car ride to dinner at another fabulous Paladar with more live music and flamingo dancers! We had opted out of going to the cannon ceremony and had told Angel we were not that interested in a large show like the Tropicana. Angel found just what we were hoping for! We drove to a local venue and enjoyed a 6 piece local band of great musicians in a relaxed atmosphere!! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening's activities which included driving to a spot to take in the views of Havana at night before they returned us to the ship! Angel adjusted the schedule to meet our interests and physical needs - we are both in our 60's and have some issues with back, knees, and feet. Angel's English was excellent and he was very personable and gracious! I think he made our trip to Cuba for us with his knowledge of history and culture as well as a good sense of humor!!! He was a delight and I highly recommend him and Fer tours! Www.fertour2havana.com
