ruff Posted January 15, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2019 Can I buy cans of soda while in the ports we visit to bring back on the ship? I know I can bring them when we embark, but I have so much luggage I would rather wait until we get to one of the islands. Thank you.

We have always brought back 6 packs of mixers, ginger ale/coke etc. Never had a problem. The mixers are a lot cheaper on the islands/ports....compared to the ship....but still a bit overpriced IMHO! Joebucks Posted January 15, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2019 Since cans are allowed at embarkation, they don't seem to care if you grab more at the ports. Bottles will attract attention though.

BallFour4 Posted January 15, 2019 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2019 (edited) A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought on board on embarkation day and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person. I'm not sure how aggressive if at all they enforce it at port stops, but it's there. That's the text from the Carnival website and link below:https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2633/~/liquor-and-beverage-policy Edited January 15, 2019 by BallFour4

I found out about it from my own research for our upcoming cruise that makes a stop there and from what I've seen, the prices are not much different than those in the states and better than prices I've seen on other islands in the past. https://www.walgreens.com/offers/offers.jsp?view=weeklyad&store_code=16409#/weeklyad

I paid around $3.89 for a 12 pack of 8 oz Sprites. Much cheaper than buying soft drinks on the ship.

Yeah, that's why I figured that will be the best place to get anything we need that we may have forgot. Some of the prices I've paid on the ship or in some ports on my past cruises for forgotten toiletries or otc meds were ridiculous!
