lisap612 Posted January 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2006 I thought I had seen a 1 page 3 column list of things to pack for a cruise. Does anyone know where I'd find that? Thanks! Lisa
ryzmom Posted January 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2006 Here are a couple of websites with packing lists and great tips on packing with traveling with kids, etc. I have typed up my own list now, if you want mine, email your address and I would be happy to send it to you. My email addy is deana0473@aol.com. Here are a few of the websites with lists: http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/entropym/pages/packing_list.htm http://www.geocities.com/jazzyjas63/PackingList.htm http://www.cruisereviews.com/PackingList.htm http://www.freetraveltips.com/Cruises/Cruises14.htm A sample list: Unisex Carry-on Bag Your carry-on bag should have the essential stuff you need to survive if all other luggage is lost. That probably won't happen but you'll feel better knowing you have this essential stuff with you. Here's my list of stuff that goes in my survival bag: Prescription Medications A change of clothes- if all is lost I have two outfits (this won't happen) Swimsuit- might want to swim before the luggage arrives Half our cash and credit cards Camera Pen/pencil/small notebook Hand sanitizer Sunglasses Cell Phone Jewelry/Watches Mp3/CD Player Cruise Documents/Airline tickets/ Passports Personal Toiletries (se list) Bottled water What’s left of snacks I had packed for travel day munching Notebook computer Blank Checks Business Cards and/or cards with simply your name, address, phone number and email 1000 Cash divided in half- half in one passengers carryon- half in another’s o 400 in 50’s o 300 in 20’s o 150 in 10’s o 75 in 5’s o 75 in 1’s Packing for Him Shorts T-shirts Casual short-sleeved shirts Socks Underwear Suit and/or Tux Dress shoes Casual Shoes Dress pants Dress shirt Tie 1 pair jeans Sandals/Flip-flops Men’s toiletries- go inside Carry-on bag Extra Contacts and glasses Shave cream and razor Electric razor Toothbrush Deodorant Cologne Hair brush Fingernail clippers Packing for Her Underwear Bras/T-shirt Socks/Stockings Bathing suit Beach cover-up Pants/skirt Dressy outfit/Formal wear Casual shoes Dress shoes Slippers Sandals/Flip-flops Hat Scarves/Belts Ladies toiletries- go inside Carry-on bag – use Ziploc bags generously to protect contents Extra Contacts and glasses Shave cream and razor Nail Care items Soap/shower gel Hair care products Hair clip/ Hair band Facial Cotton balls Makeup Moisturizer/Lotion Sunscreen Toothbrush Comb/brush Deodorant Cologne Hygiene products Hair brush Fingernail clippers Packing for Kids Here’s a checklist: Travel games Play outfits Underwear and socks Dressy outfit Swim suit Blanket Stuffed animal Community Bag This one is one of the most important and is shared by everybody in your party and includes things that everyone will need. Who carries this one is always a problem so assign it to one of the kids if you have them or flip for it otherwise. Here’s what you need: Duct tape- a small roll will do-good to fix all kinds of things Powerbar- not the kind you eat, the kind you plug into the wall to make more plugins- cruise cabins can be notoriously lacking in this area Bungee cord- main use: to prop open balcony door, other uses include strapping luggage together for easy transfer Games/Books/Magazines Travel maps/guidebooks Keys for home Flashlight Hand sanitizer Room sanitizer spray Address book/stamps Empty collapsible bag for souvenirs Extra Film/Memory cards Binoculars Umbrella Cell phone charger Ttravel alarm clock All the power cords and charging things for all your electronic stuff: camera, cd player or radio Ziplog bags – quart and giant 2 gallon size- wet swimsuits, toiletries, stuff that can leak Plastic food wrap- order sandwiches from room service to take to the beach or back home on your return flight Hair Dryer- there’s one in the cabin but you’ll want your own if you use one Laundry soap- get tablets like Wisk and put them in a Ziploc bag along with $5 in quarters- you’ll be able to do a quick load when you first get on the ship. Extra batteries- way less expensive at Wal-Mart than at the ships gift shop Bar soap from home- especially if you have sensitive skin First Aid-kit Band-aids/Neosporin Alcohol Swabs Latex gloves Tylenol/Asperin Bonine/Seasick Meds Tums Prescription Meds I HOPE SOME OF THESE HELP!
