Rare franski Posted January 24, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Hi there - I am also interested in your response about bringing alcohol on board. We regularly cruise on river boats, where it is acceptable to bring your own alcohol on board - as long as you don't drink it in the lounge. Is this on option on your coastal itineraries? If this is not an option, is there a possibility to purchase a drink package? Or, is there a "happy hour"/drink of the day special? Fran
Daniel Skjeldam Posted February 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2019 Hi Fran, yes, of course we serve alcohol on board and we do have optional drink packages available. Each of our ships that travels along the Norwegian coast has at least two restaurants and a bar, and they serve wine, beer, and liquor. Unfortunately, we do not allow guests to bring alcohol on board, either for consuming in their cabins or in public areas.
Rare franski Posted February 9, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted February 9, 2019 (edited) Thanks, Daniel... We are travelling in early October - on the Kong Harald. A "bucket list" item for me is crossing the Arctic Circle, so figure we would do it to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. VERY excited about this cruise... Travel2? Posted February 11, 2019 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2019 Hello All, We often purchase beer, wine or liquor produced locally on our travels. These purchases are meant to be gifts on our return or for our own "collection". Are these purchases allowed onboard? Franski, we'll be traveling October of 2020 for our 30th anniversary! Congratulations!
Daniel Skjeldam Posted February 12, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2019 Yes, @Travel2? any alcohol brought on board will be required to be checked in at the reception desk, and will be returned at the end of your voyage.
